Would You Like to Make a Donation?

If so, once clicked, the above Paypal "Donate" button allows you to choose one of the following donation-allocation options:

a) To Support KDA & Its Translation Work;

b) To Support At-Cost Book Donations to Monastics & Libraries; or

c) To Help With Monastic Support.

KDA is an IRS-approved 501 (c) 3 nonprofit. Donations to KDA are tax-deductible.

(See below for clarifying information pertaining to each donation option.)

a) To Support KDA & Its Translation Work

The Kalavinka Dharma Association incurs regular expenses related to its work of spreading right Dharma, including all costs associated with translation, book editing, book layout, website creation, print and digital publication and distribution, wireless internet access, telephone, and facilities maintenance. Regularly incurred expenses include the cost of computer hardware acquisition and upgrades, monthly adobe software rental and upgrades, and website hosting fees as well as the costs associated with classroom, book-based, and online technical training in Adobe & other technical software (Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) KDA is entirely dependent for its survival on the financial help of supporters who value its work of bringing Buddhist classics into English.

b) To Support At-Cost Book Donations to Monastics & Libraries

KDA makes at-cost donations of complete sets of its books to interested monks, nuns, temples and libraries* as incoming donations for this purpose permit. In cases where donors wish to sponsor book-set donations to specific monks, nuns, temple libraries, university libraries, or public libraries, we can drop-ship those sets of books from the print-on-demand printing company (Ingram's Lightning Source) to the donors' target recipients, doing so at our wholesale cost plus the cost of the printer's UPS shipping charges. This usually amounts to about a 40-50% savings over the cost of gifting book sets via online purchase from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Names of intended book-donation recipients can be passed along to us via email (kalavinka2 "at" yahoo "dot" com).

*Public and university libraries must first be contacted to ensure that they are willing to include our books on their shelves. (Public and university libraries will often only agree to accept books specifically requested in advance by professors or patrons and they may also wish to preview the books on the website.) If you find the library agrees to include these books in their collections, then:

In order to complete the "required fields" in the printer's online order form, we will need:

a) The name and shipping address of the receiving library;

b) The name of a library contact person (as in "Jane Doe" or "Head Librarian," etc);

c) A library email address (to receive shipping notices); and

d) A library phone number (required by the shipper in case of delivery difficulties).

Once we have this information, we can drop-ship these "at-cost" sets of books to willing and interested parties responsible for temple libraries, public libraries, or university libraries.

c) To Help With Monastic Support

Bhikshu Dharmamitra's most essential and basic personal expenses (domicile, health care, and food) are for the most part already covered. As for the other inevitable personal expenses, not so much. So, if you're in the mood to help out with such things, there's an option here to make a donation for that purpose.

How to Make a Donation

If you would like to make a donation of whatever amount to assist with any of the above three donation options, simply use the PayPal "Donate" button at the top or bottom of this page. (If you prefer, you may instead send donations by check written to "Kalavinka Dharma Association" with a notation indicating how you want the donation to be used, doing so via the mailing address shown on the "Contact" page.)

After clicking on the "Donate" button you will be taken to the PayPal website where you will be able to make a donation either via a major credit card or via a PayPal account to sponsor "KDA Support," "Book-Set Donation Support," or "Monastic Support." (The Paypal donation form provides an opportunity to leave an email address and/or a "note" to specify donation-related details.)

Please Note: None of your personal information or financial data is ever made available to this website. All such information remains exclusively with PayPal's secure servers.

Confidentiality Assurance: We NEVER share your name, address, email, or phone number with anyone, period.
